Quantity Surveyor (Electrical)
Join our dynamic team as a Quantity Surveyor in the electrical trade
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare cost analysis based on the architectural drawings, engineering estimates, materials required and labour involved.
- Prepare cost plans and liaise with architects, engineers and subcontractors.
- Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
- Extract from drawings material takeoffs for tender preparation & quoting.
- Evaluate tenders from contractors and subcontractors and, where appropriate, negotiate with the contractors.
- Control all stages of projects within a predetermined budget and expenditure.
- Monitor and keep track of project progress and are responsible for the measurement and valuation of variations in the work during the contract, for agreement of interim payments and the final account.
- Work as part of a team to ensure that the requirements of the client are delivered.
- Carry out monthly valuations of work in progress, including forecasting of final costs and sales.
- Provide advice to project staff on commercial and contractual matters including reviewing and drafting of correspondence.
- Commercial vetting of subcontractor tenders and contracts.
- Certification of subcontractor monthly valuations and final accounts.
- Able to work well within a team based environment.
- Communicate regularly with project staff and specialist subcontractors to ensure commercial controls are in place, understood and followed at all times.
- Manage and produce accurate formal reports in accordance with business timetable.
- Monitor all commercial information in relation to project including labour, material and subcontractor cost forecasting thus ensuring budgets adhered to.
- Supply all relevant information to the QS/Managing Director for review at the specified intervals set.
- Assist the QS Director with a range of other duties as may be required from time to time.
Requirements/Skills:
- 5 – 10 Years experience in quantity surveyor/Estimator role.
- Own Transport
- Drivers license
- Commercially astute, numerate, risk averse & able to accurately forecast cost & sales.
- Multi-tasking, self-motivated, energetic team player with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- Have good practical organization skills, planning of resources and programme scheduling.
- Be able to provide both summarized and detailed reports on current activities.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel & office skills.
- Excellent IT skills
- Demonstrable experience in construction contracts.
- Customer focused.
- Communicator & motivator with ability to communicate across all levels.
- Take responsibility and accountability for completing assignments/ work successfully.

Contract Manager
Work along-side an experienced team on projects such as data centres, large industrial plants & critical power applications.
Responsibilities include:
- Schedule the project in logical steps and meet the required deadlines.
- Ensure that quality scope of works for each site.
- Attend site and management meetings.
- Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes and other regulations.
- Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
- Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods.
- Request materials, tools and equipment to complete project.
- Develop and implement quality control programs.
- Review the work progress on daily basis.
- Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
- Adhere to Company Safety standards and promote safety culture among the ranks throughout the company.

Electrical Buyer / Estimator
Work along-side an experienced QS of 35 years on projects such as data centres, large industrial plants & critical power applications.
Responsibilities include:
- The candidate could be a former electrician or engineer with a minimum of 2 years prior experience in the buying & electrical construction environment.
- Maintaining and cultivating relationships with suppliers. Work together with a senior buyer/estimator to source products, collate/take purchase orders. Present technical information in an easy to understand and exciting manner.
- Compile accurate spreadsheets and gather all required product data timeously.
- Help manage supply chain. Perform various administrative jobs.
- Assist with quotations & tender compilations.
Requirements/Skills:
Good understanding of planning and the logistics process relating to product.Sound analytical, organising, interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills. Strong affiliation to systems, utilising them to increase productivity in line with the business strategy. Competency in all computer packages, i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel (Advanced) and Internet employment record.
